What's new

What has changed at Studisim lately.

Last updated:

  1. New

    • New in the FAQ: whether WhatsApp, iMessage and FaceTime work with the eSIM. The help page now also explains what applies to an iPhone 12 or older when your own number is already an eSIM.

    • Your account now shows each eSIM on its own card: data and days left, top-up, installation and your purchases. Expired eSIMs have their own section. The same card is also there if you bought without an account, and on the gift page.

    • The sign-in page is now shorter: the field for your email address is at the top. After you send it, you see how long the link is valid.

    • The student discount now recognises more email addresses from Austrian universities and colleges, for example from the University of Graz and the University of Salzburg.

    • For plans that include Austria, the email with your eSIM and the help page now say that the days start as soon as you set up the eSIM in Austria.

    • New: you can top up your eSIM. The data and days are added to what is left.

    • The start page now shows the price for students instead of the discount in percent. This price is rounded down to the nearest 10 cents.

    • New: buy an eSIM as a gift. The eSIM goes straight to the recipient. You can also pass it on yourself with a link.

    • The shop now shows two prices: the regular price and the price for students.

    • New: you can check in advance whether your university email address gets the student discount.

    • You can now attach up to three screenshots in the contact form.

    • The FAQ now has a search.

    • "Where to?" now understands places too: "Vienna" brings up the plans for Austria.

    • Studisim has a new look: start page, shop, FAQ, help and the other pages.

    • Checkout now clearly shows what you order, with discount and total.

    • Every plan now shows which mobile networks it uses in each country.

    • The email with your eSIM is now easier to understand.

    • New in the shop: plans for Asia with 5 GB and 10 GB, each for 30 days. They work in 14 countries.

    • New under Guides: "Staying connected during your semester abroad", "Roaming without a surprise bill" and "Roaming in the Western Balkans".

    • The German menu item "Ratgeber" is now called "Gut zu wissen". Old links still lead to the right page.

    • New: the guide "New in Austria" on your first weeks, with links to the official sources.

    • New: the guide "Where does EU roaming end?" is now also in English.

    • The contact page now has a section for organisations and partners.

    • The pages now fit very narrow phones without sideways scrolling.

    • The guide "Where does EU roaming end?" now shows on a map where EU roaming applies.

    • The FAQ now shows the buying steps as text instead of an image.

    • There is now less text before the order button.

    • New: one day before your plan expires, you get a reminder by email.

    • Email reminders can be turned off when you buy and unsubscribed in every reminder.

    • Under "Where to?", countries like Spain now also show plans for that country alone, next to the Europe plan.

    • New: "Buy again". It selects the same plan again with one click.

    • The Turkey plans with 1, 3, 5 and 10 GB now use two mobile networks instead of one.

    • New in the shop: "Where to?". You enter country, length of stay and use, and get suitable plans suggested, also for countries not in the list.

    • New: the About page, on who is behind Studisim.

    • The German start page now links to the guide "Where does EU roaming end?".

    • The site now follows your device's light or dark setting.

    • New in German: the guide "Where does EU roaming end?" and a page on phones and internet in Turkey.

    • The German texts on the site are now simpler, from buying to error messages.

    • The English pages for buying are now in plain English.

    • Signing in and the contact form no longer have a box to tick. The spam check runs in the background.

    • The shop is open. You can now buy eSIMs and create an account.
